What to expect

A down-to-earth photography and wellbeing workshop, tailored for your team, packed full of creative challenges and inspiration.

Understand the thought-provoking science behind creative and wellbeing practices, including why and how small actions bring long-lasting benefits – and how photography can boost both your wellbeing and creativity.

Participants will be supported to develop their own aesthetic style – and to take photos with feeling. Alongside, they’ll develop their own personalised stress-reduction toolkit.

Designed for any level of photography experience, participants simply need a phone or camera.

Participants can expect to leave the sessions feeling refreshed, brimming with ideas, and equipped with practical, effective ways to reduce stress.

About Gemma

I’m Gemma — photographer, wellbeing expert, and the host of JOY workshops.

My photography has taken me around the world, working with media, non-profits and UN agencies on projects centred on health, wellbeing and human rights. That work has been featured in The Guardian, the BBC and The Independent among others, as well as exhibitions and festivals.

JOY workshops grew from something more personal — the photography practices that kept me grounded and creative through years of high-pressure work. That’s how my first book developed. Published in 2025, The Leopard Print Portraits is a project that’s pure joy from start to finish.

Photography has always been my way to reduce stress and reset.
I designed these workshops to support your team to do the same.
